My review
Cauldrons & Kisses is proving to be a well-balanced, well thought out universe. Each a story of a witch finding their mate in unusual ways that affect all around them. Enchanted Hearts follows Lyndon, a cranky witch who thinks he deserves a solitude life paired with Darcy, a hybrid reptile man sunshine of a character who makes Lyndon open his heart. These two, looking at you, Lyndon, take a minute to accept their bond, but when they do beautiful. The chemistry in the bedroom is hot and was fun to see how they accommodated Darcys' other worldness. Lyndon has a crazy family that I hope we get to see more of in the future, cause if it wasn't for them, this probably couldn't have worked out. This is the prequel to Jaceys upcoming world, Hearts Haven, that I believe we are in a treat for. If you previously read PIECES OF ME, from the Monster Match series it does help to know more of Darcy backstory as well as his best friend and his mate, but didn't find it necessary to enjoy this story.
Book overview
It wasn’t good to stand out in my world. Ever since the existence of parahumans was discovered a few years back, humans made it their mission to make our lives as difficult as possible. That is why I prefer my little cabin in the middle of the woods. There were plenty of plants to work my Earth magic, and I was far enough away from society, and my meddling coven, to stay under the radar.
Then one day, a portal opens up in the middle of my vegetable patch and out walks Darcy. Darcy couldn’t blend in, even if he wanted to, his reptilian appearance making it impossible. He’s loud, he’s curious about everything, and he doesn’t belong in my world. All I need to do is figure out a way to reopen the portal and get him back to his world. The only problem? Darcy is my soul mate.
I guess this is what I get from walking through a random portal in the middle of the woods. My curiosity got the better of me, though, and now I was stuck in a strange new world with a grumpy witch. Lyndon wants no part of me and is desperate to have me gone, but I can’t seem to walk away from him. My soul screamed to his the moment those purple eyes met mine in his destroyed garden. I miss my home and my friends, but I know I won’t be able to let Lyndon go. Now I just have to convince him that sometimes it’s okay to be different, and it’s not always better to be alone.
Cauldrons & Kisses is a multi-author series of MM magical standalone stories. Each low angst read will feature a witch finding love.
